The 2023 InkCarceration Festival took place this past weekend at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Mansfield, Ohio. The site of the old prison is where the acclaimed movie takes place The Shawshank Redemption filmed.
Limp Bizkit headlined the lineup Friday (July 14), churning out a 12-track ensemble that included favorites like “Break Stuff” and “Nookie.” Singer Fred Durst donned yet another new look, this time donning a curly gray wig that made him look like a cross between ELO singer Jeff Lynne and the late Bob Ross. Other acts on Friday’s bill included Coal Room, Highly Suspect, Hatebreed, and more.
The revamped Pantera headlined the bill on a rainy Saturday (July 15), performing a 14-song set featuring classics like “A New Level,” “Walk,” and “Cowboys From Hell.” Lamb of God (with singer Randy Blythe doing new buzz cuts), In This Moment, Motionless in White, and Underoath also played the middle day of the festival.
