Tupac Shakur’s murder remains unsolved more than 25 years later, but there appears to have been a breakthrough, as a search warrant was issued this week in connection with the case.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the Las Vegas City Police Department said the warrant was carried out in nearby Henderson, Nevada. No other details of the inspection were provided due to the opening of the investigation.
Shakur was fatally shot on September 7, 1996 in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. After being taken to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and placed on life support, he remained in the intensive care unit until September 13, when he died of internal bleeding at the age of 25.
