A Canadian man hailing from New Brunswick has been arrested for making death threats against Lana Del Rey before her performance at the Festival d’été de Québec last weekend.
Denise Mallet, 40, “knowingly made threats of death or bodily harm” to the singer between January 1, 2022 and July 6, 2023, according to the indictment (via CTV News). Mallet appeared in court last Friday and remains in detention. He is due back in court on July 17.
Del Rey performed at the Festival d’été de Québec as scheduled on Saturday — which was her first North American concert in four years. She is next scheduled to play at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outsidelands in San Francisco next month.
