It’s as if former Fear Factory frontman Burton C. Bell knew it was an industry week here in a result. Just in time for the genre’s celebration, the singer dropped a cover of Rammstein’s hit “Du Hast.”
The track features Bell alongside Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson on drums and guitar, with mixing and production by Mark Gemini Thwaite. Given that Bell made a career performing industrial metal with Fear Factory, “Du Hast” is in his wheelhouse, nailing the song’s hushed vocals.
The cover is the opening hole for the comer Greetings to Rammstein Covers album, arriving August 25 via Cleopatra Records. It also marks Bell’s first solo production since he announced his exit from Factory Fair in late 2020.

Bell wrote on Instagram: “Today is the day the #breakout #debut #singletrack of #duhast releases!” Bell said on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone @cleopatrarecords for bringing me, @markgeminithwaite and @bigpaulferguson together to produce this energized version of @rammsteinofficial #iconic song. I’m just getting started. #biertoncable #drylungvocalmartyr #annhilisticautomoton.”
Bell plans to continue his career after Fear Factory by playing solo shows sometime in the near future. While his exit from Fear Factory wasn’t on the best of terms, the singer revealed that he will still perform the band’s music whenever he takes to the stage again.
As part of Industry Week, classic LPs from both Rammstein and Fear Factory made our just-published list of the 50 Best Industrial Albums of All Time.
