It’s Industry Week here a resultcelebrating a style of music that can be heavy enough for music lovers and danceable enough for club-goers.
The world of industrial music has brought us the likes of Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy, Ministry and Nine Inch Nails, who have all influenced countless bands in and out of the genre.
For some, industrial music acts as a gateway to heavy music, bridging the gap between alternative rock and metal. For others, it could go the other way, opening the door from hardcore music to new wave and goth.
These days, industrial music is as vibrant as ever, Skinny Puppy embarks on a farewell tour, and Ministry hits the road with Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper. Meanwhile, the recent Sick New World festival in Las Vegas served not only as a showcase for nu-metal acts, but also for many notable industry bands.
