Ozzy Osbourne has decided to cancel his Power Trip festival performance due to health reasons. It will be replaced by a yet-to-be-disclosed job soon.
The metal icon was initially announced as part of the impressive Power Trip lineup including AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Tool. The festival is scheduled for Oct. 6-8 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (home of Coachella), with permits available here.
The Prince of Darkness issued the following statement:
“As painful as it is, I had to make the decision to pull out of performing at Power Trip in October.
My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came up, I optimistically moved forward.
Unfortunately, my body is telling me I’m not ready yet and I’m so proud that it’s the first show I’ve done in nearly five years.
The band that will replace me on Power Trip will be announced soon. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise you that you will not be disappointed.
Above all, I want to thank my fans, team, and crew for their unconditional loyalty and continued support.
I love you all and will see you soon.
god bless,
Ozzy
Ozzy’s statement comes after Tony Iommi revealed that Black Sabbath had also been approached to play a Power Trip reunion, though the guitarist dropped the idea before it could be seriously considered, mostly due to health uncertainties for Ozzy and the members. band others.
“But I didn’t know Ozzy would do it alone,” Iommi said in a recent interview. “But he’s great. I hope he can do it and be really good. He really wants to do it. And he’s really trying to pull himself back to pick himself up. He’s had to go through such hard things lately. It’s a shame really. But he’s still fighting there.” “.

Ozzy hasn’t done a full concert since 2018, though he did perform one-off specials, of no more than a few songs, during the NFL’s halftime show at the Los Angeles Rams and at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games alongside Iommi.
