The Simpsons writer and producer Mike Reese He says he felt very relieved on his journey to the wreck of the Titanic aboard the OceanGate submarine — but he was also strangely aware that he might die there.

Mike joined us on “TMZ Live” on Wednesday, detailing his experience on Titan… the The lost submarine This week in the Atlantic Ocean he attempts the same flight he did last summer.

For Mike, his journey included some bumps and some technical difficulties…but he says he kept his cool inside the cramped sub and even slept on the ocean floor for two and a half hours.

He says they found the wreckage and only had 30 minutes to inspect it through the little window…but he took his pictures.

Mike manages to keep his cool even in extreme conditions… It’s pitch-black, he tells us, 2.5 miles below the surface, and the sub is navigating through the darkness in search of wreckage, usually without much help from navigators. Return to the roof.

Plus, there’s the fact that Mike says the waiver he signed before the trip made it clear that death was a likely outcome.

It’s interesting… Mike says he was really comfortable with the submarine’s relative simplicity, including the video game console that pilots the Titan.
