Woods announced their new album standingscheduled for September 15 on Woodsist, with the debut singles, “Between the Past” and “White Winter Melody”.
Recorded in the same Stinson Beach, California studio as the 2020 production Strange to explain and produced by bandmates Jeremy Earle and Jarvis Taveniere, standing Inspired in part by Earle’s realization that “perennial plants and flowers are the rings of nature.” Along with Earl, Taveniere, and longtime members John Andrews and Kyle Forrester, the album also features pedal steel work from Conor Gallaher. Pre-orders are ongoing.
standing It features 11 tracks, led by the first two singles “Between the Past” and “White Winter Melody”. The double release highlights the band’s blend of folk-psychedelic and vocal-free compositions, with “White Winter Melody” serving as one of four tracks on the entire album. Stream both songs below.

Woods recently released a deluxe edition of Strange to explain in June 2021. Reflections Vol. 1a collection of archival rarities including recordings with former guitarist Kevin Morby, which dropped just a few months earlier in 2020.
