Slowdive announces new album All’s Alive, 2023 tour dates

by admin

Slowdive revealed that their recently completed fifth studio album, It’s all alive, will arrive September 1st via Dead Oceans. The announcement comes with a new list of 2023 tour dates (get tickets here) as well as the LP’s first single “Kisses.”

Production on the album has been underway since autumn 2020, with the British quintet recording across the UK over the next two years. It was produced by guitarist-songwriter Neil Halstead and partially recorded in his studio, while six of the eight tracks were mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Sean Everett.

“There have been some profound transformations for some of us personally,” guitarist Rachel Goswell said in a statement, referring to the deaths of her mother and drummer Simon Scott, both of whom the album is dedicated to. The crossroads are reflected in the emotional, layered tenor of Slowdive’s music; It’s all alive Full of experience, yet every note is balanced, wise and essential to inspire hope. Its unique alchemy subtly captures both sadness and gratitude, the earthly and the uplifting.”

Using the album’s first single “Kisses” as an example, Halstead added, “It wouldn’t be right to do a really dark record right now. The album is very eclectic emotionally, but it feels hopeful.” Watch the Noel Ball-directed video for “Kisses” below.

After summer stops at Glastonbury Festival, Japan, Australia, and more, Slowdive will embark on a new North American tour that kicks off in Toronto on September 23rd. The shoegaze legends will hit New York, Chicago, and Seattle among others before wrapping up in Los Angeles on Oct. 14. They would later play several dates in the UK and Ireland until early November.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 23 via Ticketmaster. Once you’re up for grabs, check out tickets and deals via StubHub, orders are 100% guaranteed with StubHub’s FanProtect Program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be above or below face value, depending on demand.
