Foo Fighters is back in action with But here we are Their first album since 2022’s tragic departure of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. By all accounts, this is the band’s best work in years, matching the detours of shoegaze and multi-lane epics between the band’s classic style of straight rock. At a recent show in Arkansas, the band released “Teacher,” the 10-minute song that is one of the most interesting moments on the record. Check out the performance below.
“Teacher” was likely inspired by Grohl’s mother Virginia, an old teacher who also died last year. He sings: “You showed me how to breathe, you never showed me how to say goodbye”. Adding to the family affair in the track’s live debut is the artist’s 17-year-old daughter Violet, who sings But here we are He has been touring with the band as a backing vocalist.
“The Master” opens in ominous keys before the band ushers into one of the most compelling beats in years. From there, the dynamics keep changing; We even got Grohl and Chris Shiflett to change guitars!
