Jason Bateman to direct and star in eight episodes of 2021 David Gauvey Herbert film adaptation Respected Feature “Daddy Ball” Deadline Reports. The series will be broadcast on Netflix.
Netflix subsidiary Aggregate and Bateman secured the rights to the story in a bidding war that involved eight shows total. The series will have a different title than “Daddy Ball”, but will be based on Herbert’s story about the fathers of the Long Island Inferno youth baseball team who have been embroiled in a feud for the ages.
Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Roxy Rodrigue will serve as co-executive producers for the series, which is described as a dark comedy, while David Klawans will also produce.
