Arctic Monkeys performed their 2006 single “A Certain Romance” for the first time in 10 years at a show in their hometown of Sheffield, England on Friday.
Much like “Mardi Boom”, another track from Whatever people say I am, this is who I am not Recently revived by Arctic Monkeys, the band opened their set with “A Certain Romance”, much to the delight of those present. It was the first time Alex Turner and the rest of the band had performed the song together since 2013.
The return to the previous Arctic Monkeys catalog comes during promotion as well The Car, Their record in 2022 was more in the context of the 2018 hall Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino rather than their scintillating offerings. The band’s UK tour runs through June and includes a headline venue at Glastonbury; In August, they will head to the US for shows with support from Fontaines DC.
