by admin

With nearly thirty years of experience, the ISIA Group now supports many companies of all sizes in responsible and virtuous digital transformation work; With the desire to gradually move towards ESN in the future. Interview with Fabian Amadori and Jean-François Cablet, Partners and Co-Chairs of the ISIA Group.

Can you briefly introduce your group and its area of expertise?

ISIA group is what is called ESN: A digital services company established nearly 27 years ago. We employ 120 people and have a turnover of nearly 10 million euros, and we are present in 4 cities: Paris, Lyon, Montpellier and Nantes.

Like many players in our sector, we support organizations of all types – large accounts, SMEs and SMEs, but also communities – in their digital transformation. The ISIA Group distinguishes itself by wanting to include this digital transformation work in an approach that aims to be responsible.

What is the impact of digital technology on the environment?

Digital has very real effects in the physical world, often unknown to the general public. Today it is the source of 4% of greenhouse gases. That’s more than civil aviation which would be about 2.5%. These digital gadgets require 10% of the world’s electricity consumption, whether to power equipment, to cool data centers, or to power paging antennas.

Digital technology also generates a lot of waste, about 60 million tons per year, which is not recycled or very poorly. With a growth of 6-8% annually and a footprint that triples every 15 years, we understand that this path is not sustainable.

So it’s about helping businesses go digital, but not just in any way; This is our reason for being. We want to ask how we apply digital technology, how we use it to reduce its impact, but also what we intend to do in order to favor the creation of quality services with high added value for the enterprise.

So the goal is to help companies reduce their digital impact on the environment?

Above all, we want to attack the useless and unnecessary, what we might call “digital fats”, which we find in applications and in enterprise infrastructures.

This business makes it possible to benefit from a range of direct or indirect benefits, both in terms of cost reduction, Performance and quality of service provided, safety, user satisfaction, innovation, as well as improving the business owner’s brand.

It is a transition towards a more effective and sustainable digital number, which comes to meet the goals of sustainable development, which today bears the name “digital responsibility”.

We will first and foremost help our customers position themselves with preliminary diagnostic work in order to calculate the carbon footprint associated with their entire IT infrastructure. Once this initial picture is taken, we will then help them define what is called a responsible digital strategy, in order to define the goals to be achieved, whether in terms of reducing their environmental footprint, inclusion or accessibility. Each company will then have a roadmap to follow, with very concrete advice such as helping select suppliers to purchase refurbished equipment, helping select environmentally responsible hosting solutions, or coaching teams in ecological design for digital services. We can even go so far as to develop eco-friendly digital services designed for them.

What are the different issues and challenges you face today?

There is a big problem about training and awareness. There are still many companies that are not aware of the harmful consequences of digital technology.

In addition, being part of a responsible digital approach can be a real challenge for organizations, with a real challenge around managing change. We can also support them in this process, relying on collective intelligence.

noWe want to take part in the societal and environmental revolution that is being prepared, especially with regard to the environmental issues before us that will force us, whether we like it or not, to rethink our ways of producing and consuming, including digital. . We see ourselves as a kind of laboratory that aspires to innovate to innovate the ESN of the future.

We are seeing an acceleration towards a hypothetical model that serves a strong vision; To achieve our goals, we need to strengthen our teams with employees who are willing to work towards a committed project, partners who support us and, of course, customers who will trust us and prove that our approach will not be in vain.
