Rob Laxo, member of Kurt Weil’s band The Violators, has died at the age of 44 after a battle with cancer.
Laxo became a full-time member of The Violators in 2013, replacing Adam Granduciel. He has contributed to the majority of Vile’s albums, including 2013’s I woke up pretty dazed2015 B’lieve I’m going down…and 2018 bottle in it. He recently worked with Vile on his 2022 album, Watch my movements.
Lasko also played in shoegazy band Swirlies and indie rock band Mice Parade.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and their two children. A GoFundMe page was launched on behalf of the family.
