It’s been at least a decade since Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and Banshees fame played a proper live show, but that’s changing this year! Ahead of the obscure musician’s European tour this year, she had a warm-up show in Brussels at Ancienne Belgique, performing a set that included several Banshees classics.
Along with some of Siouxsie and The Banshees’ best-known songs such as “Spellbound”, “Arabian Nights”, and “Cities in Dust”, Sioux also searched for her hits “Dear Prudence” by the Beatles and “The Passenger” by Iggy Pop. She also played a few songs from her 2007 solo album manta ray
And while the Sioux’s hair has gotten a tad chicer since the Banshees’ heyday — and she’s traded out her winklepicker for sensible sneakers — you could say her stage presence is still “charming” (sorry), complete with plenty of high kicks and eccentric moves.
