Carl Palmer ‘feeling really good’ after heart surgery

by admin

Carl Palmer, the drummer best known for his work on Emerson, Lake & Palmer, is recovering from heart surgery.

Palmer, who underwent ablation of atrial fibrillation to fix the arrhythmia, thanked fans for their support in a video posted to Facebook. “I just want you to know that I’m home now,” he said, “I feel really good.” “The people at Brompton Hospital were wonderful; the Royal Brompton in London. And my surgeon, Tushar Slough — a wonderful man.”

“It took about two hours,” Palmer continued. “And I’ll take the next two or three days just to kind of recover. But it’s all looking really good. I’m looking forward to seeing you all—and that’s the most important thing—in July; that’s my love.” See his full address below.

In July, Palmer is set to hit the road on the “Emerson, Lake & Palmer Comeback” tour. The ride will feature the drummer performing live with a backing band as well as archived live footage and audio of keyboardist Keith Emerson and singer Greg Lake, who both passed away in 2016. Tickets for the North American Race can be purchased here.
