Born into a writing slump, Matt Berninger experienced it– I’m easy to findAnd The first two pages of Frankenstein Inspired by what I got out of this slump – literally the pages of Mary Shelley Frankenstein. “I was in a very dark place where I couldn’t come up with lyrics or melodies at all, and that period lasted over a year,” Berninger recalled in a press release. “Although we had always worried and argued a lot when we were working on a record, this was the first time we felt like things were really over.”
