Nicolas Cage is a self-described goth who actually played a vampire in 1989, so it’s easy to believe he’d completely lose himself in the character of Dracula. according to Renfield Director Chris McKay, the actor will stay in character between takes during the filming of the upcoming horror comedy, to the point where it was like McKay was talking to the vampire himself.
“Whatever scene we did, he would still 100% live in that situation after we stopped filming,” McKay said. from the inside. “So if he was a little listless in the scene, he would have a little bit of that between takes. But we still prepared for what we were doing.”
The method acting has lost charm in some Hollywood circles over the years, but the director said Cage wouldn’t drop his facade even during the “real conversations” the two need about the movie. However, McKay gave the actor the benefit of the doubt. “You also have to remember, he’s covered head to toe in Dracula makeup and costume, so it’s something different,” said the director. “Sometimes he couldn’t even flex his body that much because he was working on a full body machine.
