Singer Toyah Willcox and King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp tackle the J. Geils Band hit “Centerfold” for their latest performance of “Sunday Lunch,” leaving us wondering how the pair took so long to cover the ’80s classic.
After taking a few weeks off (and posting some of their best clips and bloopers in the meantime), the seriously cute couple is back with “Centerfold.” Toya, who wears an unbuttoned white T-shirt underneath, holds up last year’s copy program A magazine with Fripp on the cover, as it reverses the roles of the original Melody.
She even changed the lyrics to, “The years go by, I’m looking in bugler magazine / And there is my angel in the classroom on the pages in between.”
But wait there’s more! In additional footage, we see Fripp in a sheer dress posing in the middle of the magazine on top of a King Crimson towel, while photographer Toyah gives him sexy directions.
It’s all worth a watch, as are most of the couple’s “Sunday Lunch” videos, including recent covers of Motley Crue’s “Screaming at the Devil,” KISS’s “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” and The Offspring’s “The Kids Are Alright.” The most popular video remains Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” rendition, which has over 8 million views.
And now, fans will be able to see them perform live in person, as the new ‘Centerfold’ video also reveals that the pair will be performing at the Isle of Wight Festival on June 18. For those who plan to be in England during that time, tickets are available here.
