He confirms it’s a reference to a track on fellow SUGA band Agust D’s second mixtape, D-2. “There’s no connection, and we didn’t try to split Part One or Part Two,” he explains. “But since it turns out that my song is about freedom and moving forward, and SUGA’s song is about some of the stories that came before, I thought it would be nice to come after.”
Dedicated fans – and anyone who’s been lucky enough to see BTS live – recognize Jimin as a one-of-a-kind talent. His background in contemporary dance and ballet has made him a hypnotic stage presence. His unique vocals stop people in their tracks. I want to be a proud member of BTS.”
“Set Me Free Pt. 2” is a song that announces Jimin’s solo arrival in a major way — big horns, an aforementioned chorus, assertive lyrics, and a serious beat. As with every other decision about a record, the choice to drive with this song (the album’s closer) was intentional. “This album is about how I look back and how I’ve overcome myself… If people understood the feelings I’m trying to express, I would consider the album a success,” he says.
