Sevenfold’s Revenge has announced their long-awaited new album, Life is but a dream. Ahead of its June 2nd release date, the hard rock band unveiled first single “Nobody” and booked headline shows in Los Angeles and New York.
Life is but a dream It marks the first Avenged Sevenfold album in nearly seven years, following 2016’s The stage. Written and recorded over a four-year period, the new effort was inspired by Albert Camus’ existentialist novel the stranger.
The aforementioned concerts will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 9 and Madison Square Garden in New York on June 23. The Live Nation pre-sale begins Thursday at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster using the code Openswhile the general sale begins on Friday at 10 am local time.

As previously reported, Avenged will also be playing the Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals in May Grab for all of the band’s upcoming performances here.
The song “Nobody” is accompanied by a stop-motion music video that plays more like a science fiction short film, with a press release describing the clip as “a fascinating first look at a dystopian future where beauty emerges from chaos that culminates in an eye-opening plot twist”.
Life is but a dream It marks a welcome return from one of the biggest rock acts in the world. The past five years have been relatively uneventful for Avenged Sevenfold, starting with the California band who canceled their 2018 North American tour due to frontman M. Shadows’ vocal chord issues.

At the end of 2020, Shadows explained that Avenged had been waiting for the concert industry to open up again before releasing a new album. “If we put that record out and then shut it down for another year, as much as people don’t want to believe it, they won’t make anything of a record that came out a year ago when the time came,” he said at the time.
