2019-09-06 | Days of sustainable energy start in Kamianske

From September 9 to September 15, 2019 in Kamianske (former Dneprodzerzhinsk), the action "Days of Sustainable Energy" will be held. This event is part of the European Covenant of Mayors initiative, which the city of Kamianske joined in 2015. Taking the opportunity, the Voice of Nature organization will hold information events for different categories of Kamianske residents on sustainable energy consumption.

During the Days of Sustainable Energy campaign in Kamianske, on the initiative of the Voice of Nature organization, the following events will be organized:

- Training for children (10-15 years) "School of the Young Climate Expert". The training participants will familiarize themselves with the presentation “What is sustainable energy consumption?” and will try to conduct thematic classes in their schools. The training for young experts will be organized on the basis of the NeCafe WONDERLAND on September 8 (Sunday) from 15:00 to 18:00. - Thematic presentations in schools. Lectures are planned in schools No. 3, 5, 15, 19, 28, 29, 30, 39, 42, 44 from September 9 to 13. Additional applications for lecturing in schools are accepted by phone 067 681 13 16.

- Street action "Charge with the energy of the Sun." The action will take place on September 14 from 12:00 to 16:00 on the square. P. Kalnyshevsky, in front of the entrance to the city park. During the action, city dwellers in the park will be able to charge their phones and other devices from the solar panel, as well as take informational literature on energy saving.

The “Sustainable Energy Days” campaign is held annually in cities participating in the European Covenant of Mayors initiative. The parties to the agreement (the local city government) make voluntary commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save electricity, increase the share of renewable energy, and raise public awareness of the rules for sustainable energy consumption. In Ukraine, more than 40 cities have joined the Covenant of Mayors European Initiative.
